Blue Marlin Lighting Phase1

We finished installing the general lighting for Blue Marlin Design this weekend. We have been working on the design for a couple of weeks now. It came together surprisingly well. We made the diffuser from flat parts that were all laser cut in the studio.  Everything else is made of standard electrical conduit and off the shelf parts. We will post images and drawings in the work section once the rest of the renovation is done and we get some nice photographs. Plenty of photos of the installation after the jump.

All of the parts to assemble the lights and hang them were laser cut int he studio.

The diffusers for each light were laser cut out of vinyl and folded to make a “leaf.” A stack of 52 diffusers was less than an a couple of inches tall.

The conduit was bent through multiple dimension to achieve the branching effect.

The branches end in the light fixtures which we designed and fabricated at the studio, while the rest of the structure was made out of standard electrical conduit. [...]
